Copperplate Drypoint Workshop with Scott Stephens

    Jun 15, 2018

Artist and professor Scott Stephens will lead this workshop on the traditional printmaking method of copperplate drypoint. Participants will learn to use a stylus to incise an image into the copper and then print the image onto paper using a printing press. Participants will be able to create, proof and modify an image and then print a small edition of finished work. Participants should bring a sketchbook with image ideas and materials (pencils, erasers, fine pilot point pen, etc,) for preliminary sketches in a 45 to 57 inch format. Copperplate, fine paper, and oil based ink will be provided, as well as the specialized tools and materials to incise and print the plates.
